Pre-eclampsia

Pre-eclampsia screening

Pregnancy poisoning
Pregnancy poisoning is a disease during pregnancy which is characterised by the key symptoms hypertension, protein in the urine and water retention.
It is the key cause for death of mother and child.
Pre-eclampsia occurs in 5% of all pregnancies as a complication and is very difficult to foresee. Risk factors for the occurrence of a pregnancy poisoning are: twins, hypertension, obesity, diabetes mellitus and parodontitis. Through this blood test (from the 20th week of pregnancy) it is possible to detect pre-eclampsia at an early stage so that a well-targeted treatment can take place during the pregnancy.
